NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND NATURE MANAGEMENT

1. General Provisions

THE STATE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION "NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND NATURE MANAGEMENT", hereinafter referred to as "NUWEE", respects the confidential information and personal data of any person who visits our web portal or uses the "My NUWEE" mobile application. On this page, you can familiarize yourself with information on what data may be collected and how it may be used. You will also learn how you can check the accuracy of the collected information and instruct us to remove such information. Data is collected, processed, and used in strict compliance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine, in particular, the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection", and taking into account the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This policy does not apply to other websites or mobile applications, access to which is carried out via hyperlinks placed on the NUWEE web portal or in the "My NUWEE" mobile application.

2. Collection, Use and Processing of Personal Data

We collect information related to specific individuals only for processing and use, and only if you have voluntarily provided the information or explicitly consented to its use.
2.1 When visiting the web portal:** certain data is automatically recorded on the NUWEE server for system administration, as well as for statistical or backup purposes. The recorded information includes data about the country from which you visited our website, the name of your Internet provider, in some cases your IP address, data about the version of your browser software, the operating system, and the search website you use to visit us. Depending on the circumstances, such information allows conclusions to be drawn about the audience visiting our web portal. However, in this context, no personal data is used, except for data limited to the corporate account of the nuwm.edu.ua domain. Only anonymous information may be used.

2.2 When using the "My NUWEE" mobile application:** the application may collect the following types of data:
  • User Name, Email, and Profile Photo: This data is used to identify the user in the system, personalize the experience, and provide account-related functionality.
  • Google Calendar Events: The application may access your Google Calendar to display events related to the educational process, schedule, or other NUWEE activities that you wish to synchronize. The application does not modify your events and does not transfer them to third parties without your explicit consent.
  • Token for notification service operation: This token is a unique identifier that allows the application to send you push notifications about important events, news, schedule changes, etc.
  • Application usage information: Anonymous information about how you interact with the application is collected (e.g., screens viewed, time spent in the application, functionalities used). This data helps us improve the application's functionality and user experience.
If information is transferred by NUWEE to an external provider, all possible technical and organizational measures are taken to ensure data transfer in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine on personal data protection.
Any changes to the privacy policy will be published on this web page and in the relevant section of the mobile application. This allows you to obtain information at any time about what data we store and how we collect and store it.

3. Data Security

By registering through verification of an existing account via external providers on our web portal or by authorizing in the "My NUWEE" mobile application, you confirm that you have read the provisions of this privacy policy and accept all its terms without objection, and have also given your consent to the processing and transfer of personal data.
By consenting to this privacy policy, the user confirms that, as a personal data subject in accordance with the provisions of the GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR), they have given their consent to NUWEE, acting as a controller or processor / handler or third party in the sense of GDPR and using the web portal and mobile application, for the processing of their personal data.
During verification/authorization, you provide information about: surname; first name; patronymic; pseudonym; email address. And in cases of using a corporate account within the nuwm.edu.ua domain, additionally: phone; position; affiliation with the educational institution. Such data is provided by the user of the web portal or mobile application during system authorization. The data storage period is 12 months. After the storage period expires, the data is automatically deleted, except for cases of: using corporate accounts within the nuwm.edu.ua domain; user's consent to continued storage of such data for a system-defined period.
If you voluntarily provide us with personal information, we undertake not to use, process, or transfer such information in a manner that goes beyond the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine or as indicated by you in the consent statement. The transfer of personal data can only be carried out in the manner prescribed by the current legislation of Ukraine.
NUWEE undertakes to carefully store your personal data and take all precautionary measures to protect them from loss, misuse, or alteration.
On our web portal and in the mobile application, we use analytical and other services that collect third-party cookies (for the web portal) or device identifiers (for the mobile application): Google Analytics (Google Privacy Policy), Facebook (Facebook Privacy Policy). Information about the use of websites and applications by users (including IP addresses), generated by cookies or identifiers, will be transferred and stored on the servers of these services.
NUWEE may use your data for informational and educational mailings (weekly news, situational offers, digests), personalization of the web portal and mobile application for certain groups with specific access rights, sending email notifications, reviewing complaints and requests regarding the operation of the web portal and application, moderation of comments (messages, discussions). In this case, we may use the data you leave when registering on the web portal or in the mobile application, when subscribing to newsletters, when leaving such data in the feedback form during NUWEE events, or when providing us with data in any other open way.

4. Use of Cookies and Device Identifiers

We use cookies (for the web portal) and device identifiers (for the mobile application) to improve the operation of the web portal and the application, and to provide certain settings for each user.
Cookies are small data blocks that are temporarily stored on your computer's hard drive so that you can use our website more effectively. Device identifiers are unique identifiers assigned to your mobile device. Neither cookies nor device identifiers contain any personal information about you and cannot be used to identify an individual user. Often a cookie or device identifier contains a unique identifier, which is an anonymous number (randomly generated) and stored by your computer or mobile device. Some files are deleted after the Browse session ends, while others remain on your computer or mobile device for a longer period.

5. Online and Mobile App Tracking

On this web portal and in the mobile application, data is collected and stored for marketing and optimization purposes using Google Analytics technology.
Our analytics system takes into account information from cookies, user identifiers (e.g., User ID), and information about app usage (screens viewed, etc.). The data retention period in our Google Analytics account is 26 months. After the retention period expires, the data is automatically deleted.

6. Your Requests

Stored data will be deleted by NUWEE after the expiration of the storage period established by law or agreement, or if NUWEE no longer needs to store certain data. You have the right at any time to request the deletion of information about you from the NUWEE database. You also have the right at any time to withdraw your consent to the use or processing of your personal data. 7. Use of Social Network Plugins

The technical equipment of our web portal pages includes plugins of the facebook.com social network, which is managed from the headquarters of Facebook Inc, located in the USA, California, Palo Alto, 94304 California Avenue, 1601 St. (hereinafter "Facebook").
These plugins can be "Like" buttons or, accordingly, "I like it" on Facebook. If you visit one of our web pages equipped with such a plugin, your Internet browser will directly connect you to Facebook servers and the plugin registered through your browser will be displayed on the screen. The plugin will transmit data to the Facebook server about which of our web pages you visited. If you have a Facebook account and you are logged in to your account, Facebook will link this information to your account when you visit our web page.
If you use any plugin functions (for example, by clicking the "Like" button or commenting), this information will also be synchronized with your Facebook account.

8. Use of Modules Embedded in Social Networks

To increase the level of protection of your data when visiting our web pages, these embedded modules work as buttons that are activated by a mouse click. This form of embedding means that when you go to any page of our site that contains such embedded modules, you will not be automatically connected to the providers' servers. Only if you activate the embedded module and thereby allow data transfer will the browser create a direct connection to the providers' servers.
